ADMISSIONS POLICY
If you would like to visit just contact me to arrange a date. You can make several visits before you decide on your childcare choice. We know its a big decision for any family.
If you decide you might like to join us it would be good to have a settling in period.
The settling in period generally consists of short visits once a week or so, for us all to get to know one another and meet the other children. Towards the end of the settling in period parents and carers may pop out for an hour or so to help your child get used to the new routine and feel at home.
(I do not make a charge for the settling in period unless your child is left with me)
I will ask you to complete a form outlining our contract details, contacts and permissions.
Of course a settling in period is not always practical or possible in which case I will work with you to help you child feel at home.
Admissions Policy
I aim to provide a service which is accessible to all families in the community. In order to do this I will:-
Be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of individual children and families, whilst considering the effect this may have on children who are already in my care
Arrange my waiting list on a first come first served basis, whilst complying with the requirements of my registration (and the EYFS Funding / 2gether Funding
Welcome all children and families into my home, regardless of their background. (See separate Equal Opportunities and Inclusion Policy).
Before a child is registered with my setting I will ensure the following are in place:-
A contract, agreed and signed by myself and the parent/carer
Acknowledgement from parents/carers that they have read and agree to my policies and procedures.
A registration form, to include emergency contacts, and any specific requirements
Permission forms
An agreed fee payment plan.
An agreed settling in plan
As a registered Childminder, I must follow the principles of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage 2021.
I am registered to care for a maximum of 6 under 8 when working alone; of these I may care for a maximum of 3 ‘young children’ (generally under 5) and of theses no more than one under the age of 1. I am not registered for overnight care.
If I can demonstrate to parents and / or carers and inspectors that the individual needs of all the children are being met, I am able to make an exception to the usual ratios (3 under 5's) to care for sibling babies for example and for continuity of care. In such circumstances I may care for 4 under 5's for short periods of time on my own. You will be notified, risk assessed and I will seek signed permission from all parents concerned. This will be recorded in my daily diary.
If you have any concerns please do discuss them with me.
